SNI APPROVAL

SNI is the Indonesian National Standard nationally applicable in Indonesia. The SNI standard was first drafted by the technical committee and defined by the National Standardization Agency of Indonesia (BSN).

For products intended to be distributed into Indonesian market, in compliance with SNI standard is a must (if mandatory). Not only standards to be complied with but also related government regulations or directives shall be taken into account.

In general, there are 2 (two) main stages required for SNI approval.

  • Factory Audit/Inspection ;
  • Laboratory Testing

Furthermore, the general approval scheme is like the following:

  1. Company and Factory’s Legal Notary Act / Business License (Indonesian translation)
  2. Information of Local Business Representative / Importer in Indonesia
  3. Trademark Certificate issued by Indonesian Authority or at least a proof of Trademark Registration
  4. Product Catalogue/Brochure
  5. Technical Specifications
  6. Constructional Data Form (CDF)
  7. Productions and QA/QC flowchart process
  8. Quality Manual and/or equivalent procedures
  9. Valid ISO 9001 certificate or equivalent
